TAIANA presents its two CULT and VANITY fashion collections at the upcoming trade fairs.
THE VANITY SPRING SUMMER 2020 COLLECTION
Exuberant, audacious, refined, and intriguing. A tribute to Italian exclusivity, and an homage to quality know-how. VANITY explores the roots of Como's ultra-high level culture of silk manufacturing; the cradle of Tessitura Taiana Virgilio, from where it draws inspiration to rethink, and extract and recompose things and ideas. It is an inexhaustible well, a vault of living ideas that leads us by the hand towards new territories to be explored. Stretch silk is predominant, irreverent, luxurious, and simply irresistible. Created with unique and innovative machines, lending it a slightly futuristic feeling, it works wonderfully either stretchy or stiff for a spectacular three-dimensional effect reminiscent of living tree bark. The collection is limitless and one that reveals itself little by little. Among the many strong qualities and charms it possesses, what stands out first and foremost is the contemporary melding of the world of 'functional' with that of couture; a sort of comfortable and down-to-earth luxury with the wisdom of innovation seamlessly grafted onto what is beautiful about it. Then there is the divine tie dye offering on silk which opens up a view onto unexplored spaces yet to be traversed. Lastly, a fluent study of classic lines on silk shirts with pop and futuristic touches all at the same time.
THE CULT SPRING SUMMER 2020 COLLECTION
The CULT collection for Spring Summer 2020 strongly reiterates, if ever there was the need to, the image of a solo crossing. Off the more beaten and commercial tracks, wind inflates the sails of creativity and taste, heading for virgin paradises and new places to discover. It distances itself so much from the bland, commonplace offerings of massification so as to seem like something else altogether, as one defined by different contours. Representing signs, dreams, and needs of a type of contemporary fashion. The first island we land on is the printing one, where sought-after silk, and Modal (eco-sustainable) or pure linen backgrounds prevail. Three-dimensional floral prints appear here, characteristic of 1930s French cabaret or, lastly, vintage postcards with atmospheres highly reminiscent of the Côte d'Azur French Riviera and the nearby perfume town of Grasse. We sail towards stretch-twist cotton jacquards for the world of travel and practicality. Then we set sail towards denim, which has always been at the heart of the CULT offering, with unique appliques, prints, and treatments that lend refined exuberance to the quality which is at its base.
